Comptoir des Cotonniers’ spring-summer collection has an air of safari about it. But a safari that doesn’t hunt big cats. Photographed on Reunion Island, the collection celebrates a taste for travel and a return to authenticity, in a palette of vibrant, joyful looks. Good news: in this MAG we present to you our 2024 project with five exceptional athletes.
In this Olympic year, five top French athletes have agreed to open up to us with inspiring insights into their incredible careers, their destinies as women, their lifestyles and their dreams. They are surfing, triathlon, show jumping or mountain biking champions, and all share similar values: a passion that conquers all, great humility and extraordinary perseverance. Comptoir des Cotonniers has the same high standards.
In front of our cameras, Pénélope, Eden, Johanne, Cassandre and Loana confide in us like never before in short documentaries that we’ll be broadcasting in April 2024. Here, they pose with their favorite Comptoir looks, and together we’ve imagined a capsule collection that will be released (in limited edition) in May 2024. Because sport inspires us, but above all because these women champions inspire us!
Johanne Defay loves water, and has been riding waves from an early age. She has been competed all over the world since the age of 12. The few days a year when she’s not in the 4 corners of the world sharing the waves with the sport’s greats, she recharges her batteries on the Reunion Island or in the Landes region of France.
Cassandre Beaugrand practices 3 sports in one: triathlon. « It’s hard to get bored » jokes this top-level athlete, who started competing at a very young age and, as soon as her schedule permits, takes up photography.
At 19, Eden Leprévost skillfully follows in her parents’ footsteps. She defines her profession in 3 words: passion, sport and love of horses. Between running the stable alongside her mother, training and competing, this young athlete is at home with the animals on the estate.
Born in Annecy, Loana Lecomte started out skiing, then took up cycling in the summer to follow her grandfather. She began competing in mountain biking at the age of 8, and in just a few years rose to the very top of the sport. Despite her constant travel to competitions, she readily admits to the endless pleasure she derives from being constantly out in nature, in the forest or in the mountains, practicing her sport.
A rider since childhood, Pénélope Leprévost is the greatest French equestrian champion in history. Passionate about her profession, which she practices 365 days a year, this animal lover has built herself a paradise in which she trains her horses and over forty other animals.
Light khaki or lemon, sand or navy, spring hues are gently gracing jeans, lightweight raincoats or ultra-lightweight PLUME sleeveless down jackets. Cool is in the air!
Colored jeans rhyme with happiness. Loose-cut iconic RITA and high-waisted, stylish newcomer EMY boldly embrace a rainbow of colors: royal blue, dusty pink, camel and soft khaki. Pair them with linen T-shirts for a color-block effect.
Blue: one of the season’s key shades. Especially royal blue, which electrifies the CATHERINE trench coat, the new MADO striped jumper or the new EMY jeans for a truly unique look.
Smooth ankles and sleek gait. Take a pick from our 4 spring jeans. RITA has become a wardrobe staple, EMY is soon to be a must-have for dressier looks, NIKKI’s pleated style reaches new heights, and AVA and its wide turn-ups lengthens the figure. All in organic cotton. All washed with less water than traditional washes.
Suits are reinvented. In linen/cotton, workwear jackets top high-waisted, long, flared pants that streamline the silhouette. Or a cargo skirt. Definitely. The result? Casual chic. The colors? Pink, white, vetiver, indigo, or very fine white/blue stripes. So chic!
