Who is she ?
Her name sounds like something from a novel and she looks like a film star. This self-confessed geeky conductor listens to rap and electro and loves spending hours watching wildlife documentaries. Always expect the unexpected from Uèle Lamore, the element of surprise suits her to a tee. Let's meet her.
Where do you call home ?
Since returning from America eight months ago, I’ve been crashing at my dad’s! It’s an old shoe factory on the outskirts of Paris that my parents completely renovated. My father, an artist and sculptor, has transformed part of the building into an atelier. I love this house where I spent some of my childhood, but I’m also happy to be moving into my own apartment in Paris soon!

Tell us about your career !
I'm classically trained but I work in current music: electro, rap, rock, new wave... That's the music I love and listen to. Me and my orchestra perform original creations live and work with artists. Whilst conducting, a conductor has to be extremely accurate yet totally abstract. The conductor embodies the power and sensitivity of a moment in time so they have to ooze energy for the orchestra to thrive on. It's exhausting, very physical, there's something almost athletic about conducting. You put a lot of yourself into it.
What is your everyday outfit like ?
I'm in a hurry from morning to evening so my clothes can’t get in the way, on the contrary, they have to support me. On an average day, I’ll typically wear a lightweight and nicely cut top, minimalist pants, and a pair of cool trainers. I’d say based on this outfit, my style is influenced by Japanese silhouettes and a sense of south-Korean refinement.

Does fashion run in the family ?
My mum's a designer and half my family works in fashion. I have huge respect for fashion. I believe that there's a real philosophy involved in appearance and our choice of outfit. They're not just clothes; they're signs that can say a lot about someone. Historically speaking, we owe much to fashion. I'm thinking about Yves Saint Laurent who did so much more than shake up the establishment when he dressed women in trousers.
What is your opinion on the idea of exchanging and sharing ?
Everything I do is based on give and take. By managing them, I'm offering my skills to the musicians and the musicians offer me their skills in return. Even though I’ve worked really hard in this job, I’m constantly learning and in the pursuit of knowledge. It’s really rewarding and thrilling to know there’s always something left to learn…
